Navigating Medicare can raise a lot of questions—and we’re here to answer them. Below are some of the most common questions we hear from clients. Don’t see what you’re looking for? Contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

❓ When should I sign up for Medicare?

Most people should enroll during their Initial Enrollment Period (IEP)—a 7-month window starting 3 months before turning 65.

If you're already receiving Social Security, you’ll be automatically enrolled in Parts A and B.

❓ What’s the difference between Medicare Parts?
  • Part A – Hospital insurance
  • Part B – Medical insurance
  • Part C – Medicare Advantage
  • Part D – Prescription drugs

❓ Do I have to pay for Medicare?

Yes, but costs vary: Part A is usually premium-free if you’ve worked at least 10 years. Part B has a monthly premium (adjusted based on income).

Part C and D plans vary by carrier and coverage. We help you compare costs to find what works best for your budget.

❓ What is Medicare Advantage?
  • Medicare Advantage (Part C) is an all-in-one alternative to Original Medicare. These plans are offered by private insurers approved by Medicare and often include extra benefits like dental, vision, hearing, and even fitness programs.
  • We’ll help you determine if an Advantage plan is right for you based on your providers, prescriptions, and health needs.

❓ What is a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan?

Medigap plans help cover the out-of-pocket costs (like deductibles and coinsurance) that Original Medicare doesn’t. These plans work alongside your Part A and B coverage but do not include drug coverage—so you’ll still need a separate Part D plan.

❓ How do I know which plan is right for me?
That’s where we come in. We offer personalized consultations to evaluate your health needs, preferred doctors, medications, and budget. Then we help you compare plans and choose the best fit—for now and the future.

❓ Can I change my plan after I enroll?

Yes. The Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) from October 15 to December 7 allows you to switch or adjust your Medicare coverage. There are also Special Enrollment Periods (SEPs) if you experience certain life changes (like moving or losing employer coverage).

❓ How much does it cost to meet with you?
All of our consultations are completely free and without obligation. We are licensed and compensated by the insurance companies you choose, not by charging you.

❓ Will you help me every year?

Absolutely. We offer annual plan reviews to make sure your coverage still fits your needs. Whether your health changes, your medications change, or plans change—we’re here to help, year after year.
